Is It I?
Matthew 26:21-22 | 1 John 1:8-9 // This song is very special to me. It is about examining ourselves- like the disciples had to do when Jesus told them one of them would betray Him. I have to look at not just what I choose to do; but also, what I choose to ignore and walk away from. Just like the fisherman in the morning walking down the beach throwing starfish in the ocean one at a time; although he may not be able to save the millions, he did make a difference to that one. So, I try to regularly ask, "Is it I, Lord?"
Is it I? Did I drive the nail that pierced the hand of Jesus?
Did I look the other way as He cried out? Is it I?
Do I show the love that gave me my salvation?
Or forgetting that He loved me, do I lie? Is it I?
Is it I?

Lord, will You help me look into the mirror of my soul?
Can I face my own reflection?

Is it I? Did I drive the nail that pierced the hand of Jesus?
Did I look the other way as He cried out? Is it I?
Do I show the love that gave me my salvation?
Or forgetting that He loved me, do I lie? Is it I?
Is it I?

You are the Father of all holiness,
Your grace has amazed eternally.
You are all mercy and compassion,
Your endless love gives life and breath to me.

Is it I? Did I drive the nail that pierced the hand of Jesus?
Did I look the other way as He cried out? Is it I?
Is it I? Is It I?
